Collagen is superior to glucosamine in the treatment of joint disorders?

Some advertisements mention that cartilage contains 67 times more collagen than glucosamine.

Which would suggest that collagen is much more effective than glucosamine in treating joint disorders. This claim is based and that it is exactly?

Two substances with very different roles

Collagen and glucosamine are not similar substances. Collagen is a protein, composed mainly of three amino acids: glycine, proline and hydroxyproline. Glucosamine is an amino sugar composed of glucose and glutamine.
